Overview

About the mission

  • The diplomatic relations between the state of Qatar and Malaysia were established in 1974 on a non-residential representation, and the state of Qatar was represented by the Embassy of the state of Qatar to Indonesia.
  • Since then, the relations between the leaders of the two countries were enhanced by the mutual trust which led to expanding and improving the political, commercial, tourism and other relations between the two countries.
  • Both parties agreed to upgrade the level of diplomatic relations to a residential embassy in 2004, and that came after the state of Qatar heading the Organization of Islamic Cooperation from 2000 – 2003, followed by appointing Malaysia as a head of the organization from 2003 – 2006.
  • The embassy of the state of Qatar started its duties as a residential embassy in Malaysia in 2004.
